3-Day Mikumi Safari Itinerary
Day 1 Zanzibar → Dar es Salaam → Morogoro → Mikumi
- Early in the morning, depart from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam by boat.
- Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam city center, take the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train to Morogoro town.
- Arrive in Morogoro at approximately 11:00 AM.
- From Morogoro town, travel by safari vehicle to Mikumi town.
- Enjoy lunch at a restaurant along the way.
- Check in to Mantis Camp Site.
- In the evening, visit a local Maasai boma (village).
- Overnight at Mantis Camp Site.
Day 2 Full Day Safari in Mikumi National Park
- Enjoy a full day of game driving within Mikumi National Park.
- Bush lunch will be served at a restaurant inside the park.
- In the evening, return to Morogoro town for an overnight stay at accommodation near the railway station.
Day 3 Morogoro → Dar es Salaam → Zanzibar
- At approximately 9:50 AM, take the SGR train back to Dar es Salaam.
- From Dar es Salaam, take a boat back to Zanzibar.
